Sporting Kansas City looks like one of the best teams in the MLS right now and didn't disappoint Saturday night holding on for a 1-0 win over Real Salt Lake.
Sporting Kansas City struck first just before the halftime whistle but had the goal disallowed by referee Kevin Stott. Aurelien Collin scored the only goal of the game in the 63rd minute of the contest. Collin came free against Real Salt Lake's Alvaro Saborio to score on a header to give Kansas City the lead.
Sporting Kansas City's press wasn't as aggressive as it has been in past contests but Real Salt Lake were unable to create clear scoring chances. Collin and Matt Besler didn't allow anything through in the final moments of the game. Sporting Kansas City earns the full three points in the standings for the victory.
