MLS All-Star Game 2012: Eddie Johnson Scores In Injury Time As All-Stars Stun Chelsea 3-2

Former Kansas City Wizards striker Eddie Johnson scored the game winner in injury time as the MLS All-Stars beat the defending UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea 3-2 at PPL Park in Philadelphia.

San Jose's Chris Wondoloski opened up the scoring in the 21st minute, beating Chelsea keeper Henrique Hilario to give the MLS a 1-0 lead. Chelsea answered back just 11 minutes later, with Chelsea captain John Terry heading home a screamer past Sporting Kansas City's Jimmy Nielsen.

Chelsea grabbed the lead in the 50th minute, with Lampard scoring off of a beautiful Ramires cross that went over Chivas USA keeper Dan Kennedy. After that, the All-Stars went on the offensive to try an level.

The moment happened in the 73rd, when DC United's Dwyane De Rosario hooked up with teammate Chris Pontius for the equalizer. De Rosario found Pontius streaking towards the goal and he calmly slotted it past Ross Turnbull to make it 2-2.

The winner didn't happen until injury time, when Johnson saw his shot deflect off of David Luiz and left Turnbull flat-footed unable to recover in time to make the save.

Sporting KC had five players on the roster, with three of them seeing time on the pitch. Nielsen and defender Aurelien Colin started, however Colin had to be subbed off in the 35th after colliding with Chelsea midfielder Micheal Essien. He was replaced by Carlos Valdez of the Philadelphia Union. Graham Zusi replaced Thierry Henry of the New York Red Bulls in the 57th minute, but did not record a shot on the night.
