Sporting KC announced today a deal with Spanish midfielder Oriol Rosell after the 20-year-old spent the last six seasons with FC Barcelona.

"I'm very happy to be here and I'm eager to start working with the team," Rosell said. "With my hard work, I hope to help the club achieve the objectives that we are focused on. I am very impressed by the support and I want to make the fans happy with my game."

"Oriol comes from arguably the best soccer school and environment a player can be a part of in Barcelona," said Sporting Kansas City Manager Peter Vermes. "Adding him as another midfielder will help raise the bar on a daily basis within our roster and add a lot depth in the middle for us."

From the press release, "Rosell will fulfill an international roster spot and has been added to the team's roster. Per club policy, additional terms of the agreement will not be disclosed."
