Sporting KC's Graham Zusi Chosen For USMNT

Zusi joins the USMNT for two World Cup qualifiers against Jamaica.

Sporting KC midfielder Graham Zusi has been named to the United States Men's National Team. The announcement was made Sunday by the United States Soccer Federation.

Zusi will join the team for a pair of World Cup qualifying matches against Jamaica, as part of the 25-man roster. The first game takes place on Fri., Sept. 7 in Kingston, Jamaica. The two squads then travel to Columbus, Ohio for the second game on Tues., Sept. 11. The second game will air on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. CT.

The 26-year-old midfielder is currently second in the MLS in assists with 12, as his Sporting KC club sits at first place in the Eastern Conference. Zusi will not miss any games with Sporting KC, returning to the team two days before its next match with the Houston Dynamo on Sept. 14.

Zusi has appeared in three international friendlies over his career, including last month's big win at Mexico.
