NFL Power Rankings: Where Do The Kansas City Chiefs Land Now?

The Kansas City Chiefs were generally around No. 10 in a lot of the NFL power rankings we looked at last week. They were 3-0 but a team the media looked at with question marks.

Against the Indianapolis Colts, they lost. The Colts are among the elite teams so I don't think it surprised anyone that the Chiefs lost.

I do think, however, that many people were impressed with the way the Chiefs handled Peyton Manning and the Colts. They did a solid job for much of the game before falling 19-9.

So how far do you drop the Chiefs for losing?

I don't think you can drop them very far. This is the fourth straight game that the Chiefs defense has played like a top 5-10 group in the league. They're for real. They've gone a quarter of the season not allowing someone to score 20 points. They're giving up 15 points a game.

The defense is legit.

The offense, on the other hand, is becoming a problem, specifically (and only) the passing offense. Matt Cassel has played pretty miserable in three of the four games this year so I'm starting to think he's more like the guy we had in Week 1, Week 2 and Week 5 -- not the guy who put up three touchdowns in Week 3.
