College Basketball Rankings: Coaches Poll Has Kansas State, Kansas And Mizzou In Top 25

What a year for Kansas City area basketball.

Here are the initial college basketball rankings from the USA Today/Coaches poll.

The top 15 should have some familiar names: Kansas State (no. 3), Kansas (no. 7) and Mizzou (no. 15) land in the top 15. In all there are four Big 12 teams in the top 15 and five in the top 25.

Here's a quick breakdown of the area teams:

  • Kansas State: 3rd. Finished 7th last year.
  • Kansas: 7th. Finished 6th last year.
  • Mizzou: 15th. Not ranked last year.
