Fantasy Football, Week 8: Will Dexter McCluster Be Able To Play?

Kansas City Chiefs WR/RB Dexter McCluster was an intriguing fantasy football player heading into the season because he was expected to play some at both running back and receiver. The Chiefs have been cautious with him most of the season not giving him many carries or targets in the passing game.

Last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars McCluster saw season highs in receptions and rushes and players have said that they're going to try to get him the ball more often moving forward. Last Sunday's season high of nine touches was evidence of that.

McCluster left last Sunday's game with some sort of leg injury. At the Chiefs practice on Wednesday he wasn't running, according to Kent Babb of the KC Star which gives some doubt as to whether he'll be ready to play in Week 8.

McCluster's not a big time fantasy football player at this point but he does have lots of potential, especially with the Chiefs emphasizing him more often.

We'll be updating you with McCluster's status in the coming days and by Friday the Chiefs will have to rule him out/doubtful/questionable/probable. Until then we won't know much.
