Mizzou Football Has 'Set The Tone' As Basketball Season Gets Underway

Mizzou will host its annual Black and Gold game on Thursday evening inside Mizzou Arenas. Basketball season is here and that was evident when 3,000 fans showed up to Mizzou's open practice on Saturday afternoon.

The basketball team is ranked No. 15 nationally in both preseason polls but they may play second fiddle to the football team over the first few weeks if Blaine Gabbert and Co. continue to win. Mizzou forward Laurence Bowers said the football team has "set the tone" for the basketball team, according to the KC Star.

"The football team has set the tone high for all sports teams here at Missouri," Bowers said.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Thursday evening and the game starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 and will benefit the Boys and Girls Club..

The Tigers first exhibition game comes on Nov. 5 and the first regular season game is scheduled for Nov. 18.
