The Kansas State Wildcats have a football team sporting a 4-0 record and now their basketball team is getting early recognition in advance of the 2010-2011 Big 12 Conference basketball season.
The Big 12 has released the preseason polls and K-State comes in at numero uno. This is the first time KSU has been ranked preseason No. 1 in the Big 12. They got 10 of the 12 first place votes.
The Wildcats are led by All-Big 12 First Team guard Jacob Pullen, who topped his squad in scoring with 19.3 points per game a year ago. He has scored in double figures in 37 consecutive outings, the second-longest streak in school history. K-State has nine lettermen returning from a team that advanced to an NCAA regional final for the first time since 1988.
Nine lettermen is quite a bit and that's the biggest reason they're this high. That, and their incredible run last year.
