Royals Trade David DeJesus To A's For Pitchers Vin Mazzaro And Justin Marks

And just like that, David DeJesus is gone.

The Kansas City Royals announced on Wednesday that outfielder David DeJesus was traded to the Oakland A's in exchange for pitchers Vin Mazzaro and Justin Marks. GM Dayton Moore said Mazzaro would join the rotation.

Here's a bit on Mazzaro from MLB.com:

In bolstering their lineup, the A's sacrificed one of their promising young starters in Mazzaro, who showed flashes of brilliance in the midst of an up-and-down season this year. He enjoyed a 5-2 mark and 2.86 ERA over his first nine starts but went 0-6 with a 5.60 ERA over his next eight, landing him at Triple-A Sacramento on Sept. 6. Mazzaro returned to the club later in the month but only in a relief role.

And more on Marks, from Royals Review:

Justin Marks is a 22 year old minor league pitcher who has not left A ball. His minor league numbers do not look particularly impressive. He was a 3rd round draft pick in 2009. He's a guy. A guy who throws the baseball. At the moment, it's difficult to get excited about him.

Lots to talk about with this one. Hop on over to Royals Review to get the reaction.
