The Kansas Jayhawks are onto their third quarterback of the season. In Week 1, it was QB Kale Pick, followed by QB Jordan Webb and then after those two were out with injuries it was QB Quinn Mecham. He led KU on a ridiculous comeback against Colorado so he's held onto the spot since then.
Webb was limited last week with a shoulder injury which is why Mecham started. This week, though, with Webb healthy it will be Mecham starting once again. At his weekly press conference, Gill suggested both Mecham and Webb could play against Oklahoma State next week.
Oklahoma State is No. 10 in the BCS rankings and they're expected to win big against KU in Lawrence, Kan. The Jayhawks have lost five of their last six games and nearly all of them have been blowouts. It's hard to imagine KU standing much of a chance here but you've got to like some things they did against Nebraska defensively. (Offensively, KU had one of the worst performances we've ever seen).
So Mecham gets the nod as KU tries to pull off a major upset. They have some experience in upsets as they beat then-ranked Georgia Tech and just two weeks ago had that comeback against Colorado. So KU has had some success when the odds are against them.
That said, you'd have to be crazy to pick against Oklahoma State in this one.
