Kansas City Chiefs Vs. San Diego Chargers: Matt Cassel Headlines Injury Report

The Kansas City Chiefs have just three players on the injury report which is a low number this deep into the season. Of course one or those players is QB Matt Cassel, who underwent an appendectomy on Wednesday. His status is officially up in the air.

The Chiefs will designate Cassel's status on Friday afternoon and then we'll find out about 90 minutes before the game if he's active. My guess -- and it's just a guess -- is that Cassel is listed as questionable. Placing him as doubtful or out would basically rule out his chances of playing and, according to the Chiefs, there's still a chance he plays.

Joining Cassel on the injury report are two safeties -- Donald Washington and Kendrick Lewis. Washington was seen earlier this week in a walking boot and was upgraded on Thursday from no practice to limited practice. Lewis injured his ankle last week and missed the Denver Broncos game. He's been limited as well.

It's Week 14 and there are only three guys on the injury report. The Chiefs have to feel pretty good about that even if one of those names is, um, kind of important.
