Matt Cassel Doubtful; What Can Brodie Croyle Do For Fantasy Football?

New, 1 comment

The Kansas City Chiefs on Friday ruled QB Matt Cassel as doubtful for Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers. That means more than likely he's not going to play and he will be out of your fantasy football lineup this weekend.

At this point in the fantasy football year there aren't many surprises on the waiver wire. Through 13 weeks, you pretty much know what most quarterbacks can do and you're not going to find a ton of steals on the waiver wire.

Perhaps QB Brodie Croyle, Cassel's backup, should find his way onto your team.

The last time Croyle started a game was Sept, 13, 2009, the first game of the 2009 season. He completed 16-of-24 passes for 177 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. Clearly, he has the ability to have a decent fantasy football day. Those numbers would be nice in a spot start.

Your options are really pretty limited here. The Chiefs are going to rely heavily on the running game with Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones so the quarterback probably won't be putting up huge numbers.

Tough call for you this weekend...if you have no other options, then you'll have to roll the dice with Croyle.
