Kansas Jayhawks Vs. UCLA Bruins

New, 1 comment

The Kansas Jayhawks 64th consecutive home victory extended their school record and their record as the NCAA active leader for consecutive home victories. But this one didn't come easy, especially for the faint of heart.

KU beat the UCLA Bruins at Allen Fieldhouse on Thursday night, 77-76.

With eight second remaining in the game, Tyler Honeycutt hit his fifth three pointer of the game tying it up at 76. Allen Fieldhouse was stunned but they were quickly relieved when UCLA fouled with 0.7 seconds remaining in the game.

Mario Little walked to the line and calmly hit the first one before missing the second on purpose.

Honeycutt on the night was nearly unstoppable. He hit 11-of-15 shots including 5-of-6 three-pointers for 33 total points. He added nine boards.

Kansas had a number of players with solid nights. Tyrel Reed scored 11 of the first 19 points for KU and ended with 17 on the night. Marcus and Markieff Morris combined for 25 points hitting 9-of-21 shots and 13 rebounds. Mario Little had nine points but none more important than the one with 0.7 seconds left.

Whew. That's what KU fans are feeling right now. The home winning streak is something of pride for Kansas fans and it will continue but it was a very close call.
