The New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons are separating themselves from the rest of the NFL as the two top teams in the NFL at this point. NFL power rankings for Week 16 will start coming in on Tuesday and I imagine those two teams will be No. 1 and No. 2. Meanwhile the Kansas City Chiefs got a big road victory over the St. Louis Rams keeping their one game lead over the San Diego Chargers in the AFC West.
The Chiefs continue to move up and we're no longer at the point where we can say teams like the Eagles and Chargers are clearly better than the Chiefs. In my view, I see seven teams that should definitely be ranked ahead of the Chiefs: Patriots, Jets, Steelers, Ravens, Eagles, Falcons and Saints. That would put the Chiefs best case scenario, in my mind, as No. 8 in this week's NFL power rankings.
There are a few other questionable teams in there as well. These are the teams that I could see an argument for to be ranked ahead of the Chiefs: Colts, Chargers, Giants, Bears and Packers. That would put the Chiefs worst case scenario, in my mind, as No. 13 in this week's NFL power rankings.
I think that's a fair window for the Chiefs -- between No. 8-13. They're not an elite team but they've shown that they can hang with some of the big boys.
