Missouri Tigers Hold Off Oregon Ducks Comeback, 83-80

The Kansas Jayhawks and Missouri Tigers had pretty similar games on Thursday night. The UCLA Bruins hit a three-pointer with a few seconds left to tie the Jayhawks before they hit a free throw to end the game. And it was the Oregon Ducks who hit two threes with seconds remaining against Mizzou to bring the game to within two before Mizzou added one more free throw and ended it.

Missouri's MVP is once again Marcus Denmon who put up 19 points hitting 5-of-7 shots including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. He's been simply on fire lately, especially with his shooting percentage which has been very high. He also added a team high eight rebounds. Kim English hit 5-of-11 shots for 12 points while Michael Dixon added 11 points including 9-of-10 at the free throw lines.

Missouri Tigers fans are saying after this one...."Whew!" The Tigers had a whopping 20-point lead -- 44-24 -- at halftime. Oregon outscored Mizzou 56-39 in the second half.

Oregon's E.J. Singler added 19 points while Joevan Catron and Jay-R Stowbridge added 15 points.

Missouri's logged a ridiculous amount of miles lately after playing in the Cancun Challenge. To travel to Eugene, Oregon, and beat these guys when you're tired and beat up is a solid win. Mizzou's clearly the better team but I like that they're being tested in unconventional ways (lots of traveling) early on this season.

Mizzou moves to 6-1 on the season and they've got their next four in a row at home.
