NCAA Basketball Rankings: Kansas, Kansas State Remain In Top 5; Mizzou Tumbles

The USA Today Coaches' poll has been released for college basketball and it's no surprise the Duke Blue Devils remain at the top. Duke received all 31 first place votes and are followed again by Ohio State and Pittsburgh.

The Missouri Tigers were ranked No. 8 in the USA Today coaches' poll last week but fall out of the top 10 after losing a "neutral court game" against the Georgetown Hoyas at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo. Mizzou is ranked No. 11, just behind Georgetown at No. 10. Missouri later defeated the Ducks last week and face Vanderbilt and Presbyterian this week.

The Kansas Jayhawks and Kansas State Wildcats remain at No. 4 and No. 5 in the NCAA basketball rankings.

KU basketball beat UCLA last week, 77-76, in a somewhat controversial finish that saw Mario Little hit a free throw to end the game with 0.7 seconds left. That was a big time win for the Jayhawks who had their 63 (now 64) game home winning streak on the line.

Kansas has upcoming games against No. 14 Memphis Tigers and Colorado State.

The Wildcats remain at No. 5 after defeating Washington State 63-58 last week. That game was a little closer than anyone wanted or imagined but a win is a win. The Wildcats face Alcorn State and Loyola (IL) this week.
