It's official: The Josh McDaniels era is over.
The Denver Bronco relieved McDaniels of his duties on Monday -- fancy words for fired. There are plenty of slip-ups for McDaniels since he took over as head coach before the 2009 season.
- He traded QB Jay Cutler, one of the best young QBs in the game.
- He traded WR Brandon Marshall, one of the best WRs in the game.
- He traded RB Peyton Hillis, one of the best young RBs in the game -- and traded him for QB Brady Quinn.
- The Broncos were caught filming the 49ers practice costing McDaniels $50,000 and the Broncos $50,000.
At the end of the day though it comes down to the record and he was just 11-17 in Denver. That, among the many drastic personnel moves he made, probably made this move necessary from Broncos owner Pat Bowlen's perspective.
