Lakers NBA Title Reminds Kansas City We Don't Have A NBA Team

New, 3 comments

So the Lakers beat the Celtics for the NBA title on Thursday night. It was one of the better Finals games in recent memory. Game 7. Comes down to the final seconds. Historical rivalry. Kobe going after Jordan.

The whole bit.

And Kansas City has no dog in the right.

↵

Fans across other NBA cities were likely rooting for their conference rep, whether that be the Lakers or Celtics, and probably had some sort of memory of a game that season against one of those teams.

Kansas City has the Sprint Center and no home tenant (No, the Brigade doesn't count).

↵

Would you want a NBA team in Kansas City?

↵

Sure, I'd like one because the more options the better but Kansas City has trouble filling the stadium for Royals and Chiefs games. The NFL has a ridiculous sellout rate and Arrowhead has trouble filling the seats.

Why would the country's third most popular sport change that?
