The Royals on Wednesday called up pitcher Anthony Lerew to replace Luke Hochevar in the line-up after he suffered a sprained elbow landing on the 15-day disabled list.
Judging by Lerew's performance on Thursday night, he's making the case for a spot on the roster.
Over six innings against the Astros, Lerew gave up just two runs and allowed just three hits. Not a bad performance even though the level of competition probably wasn't much different from where he came.
Hochevar is expected to miss two starts but Lerew is making a case to stay in the rotation.
What do you think? Can Lerew stick around?
