Former Missouri Tigers Catcher Signs With The Rangers

Heading into his senior year at Missouri, catcher Brett Nicholas was the highest Tigers baseball player drafted in the sixth round.

On Monday, Nicholas made it official signing with the Rangers.

The Arizona native was excellent in his junior campaign at the University of Missouri this year, batting .352 with 15 doubles, 12 home runs, and 64 runs batted in.

Nicholas is a versatile player that can play a handful of positions, including catcher and third base. Though he was a third baseman for much of his collegiate season, the Rangers drafted him as a catcher.
