Kansas High School All-Stars Top Missouri At Kauffman Stadium

Kansas vs. Missouri is the No. 1 rivalry in the city according to my recent ranking of the top five rivalries in the city.

If the rivalry extends to high school, then Kansas has taken the lead. Missouri and Kansas all-stars played in the Kansas City Metro Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Game.

Ryne Stanek, a recent Blue Valley graduate who was drafted in the third round by the Seattle Mariners last week, and Jason Adam, a BV Northwest grad who was snagged by the Royals in the fifth round, didn’t play. But Kansas still rode its strong stable of pitchers to an 8-4 win in a game that pits the spring’s top seniors from either side of the state line against one another at Kauffman Stadium.

I wonder if that extends to high school as well.

From my experience (Missouri high school), the Kansas and Missouri rivalry does extend to high school.
