Former Chiefs RB Wins Offensive Rookie Of The Year In Indoor Football League

Anyone remember Derrick Ross?

He was in NFL Europa leading the league in rushing until the Chiefs "called him up" the 2008 offseason before being cut after training camp.

Ross has been in the IFL and was recently awarded the Offensive Rookie Of The Year.

A rookie running back with the San Angelo Stampede Express, Ross rushed 164 times for 824 total yards. He averaged 58.9 yards a game and five yards per carry. Ross also rushed for 26 touchdowns this season, leading the Stampede Express to a 10-4 record and a spot in the IFL playoffs.

The first-year running back also contributed to his team’s passing game, making 11 catches for 64 yards and two TDs.
