Ah, yes, former Chiefs kicker Justin Medlock. Kansas City hasn't had the best luck with kickers since...well, it's been a while. Too many heartbreaks to delve into that one today.
↵Anyway, Medlock, who was drafted and then released by the Chiefs after one game, has resurfaced in Detroit (a defense coached by Gunther Cunningham, who was with the Chiefs when Medlock was drafted).
↵From what it sounds like, he's not going to be sticking around long.
↵Lions coach Jim Schwartz said they don't have any concerns with their current kicker, Jason Hansen, and they don't have any plans to have a kickoff specialist.
↵So, basically, this is an opportunity for Medlock to show what he can do in the event Hansen is injured at some point.
↵Somehow I don't think Medlock would be the guy in Kansas City if Ryan Succop were to go down.
