The past four consecutive years, a Royals pitcher has been the club's All-Star representative. It's quite possible -- may be even likely -- that could change this year.
↵After going from Mark Redman to Gil Meche to Joakim Soria to Zack Greinke, the Royals All-Star candidates are likely one of the following: Billy Butler, David DeJesus and Joakim Soria.
↵Butler is having a solid year and his selection would be a bit of a surprise, I think. DeJesus, on the other hand, should be the favorite. He's on track or his best career as a pro. Meanwhile, Soria is quietly putting up another solid season so he could see a repeat of 2008 when he was selected.
↵As of now, no Royal is eligible via the fan voting so A.L. manager Joe Girardi will most likely be selecting the player.
↵So, who will it be?
