The Royals and Cardinals are entering the final game of their three-game series. Since they're tied at one win apiece, this one represents the bragging rights.
Of course, it'd be much easier for the Royals to win so St. Louis-based The Sporting News doesn't name St. Louis the best baseball fans (In other news, The Pitch thinks Kansas City is better than St. Louis).
The Cards took down the Royals on Saturday despite their best attempt at a comeback.
Today it's expected to be Jaime Garcia against the Royals Bruce Chen. Past history clearly indicates Pujols will be, well, Pujols.
Pujols went 0-for-3 before singling late in the Cardinals' 5-3 win on Saturday, but his career numbers against the Royals are astounding. Pujols has batted .384 (66-for-172) with 14 home runs and 50 RBIs in 44 career games against Kansas City, including a .385 (45-for-117) mark while playing at Kauffman Stadium.
Interesting note about Pujols: He's reached base safely in all 29 games he's played at Kauffman. He's trying to extend the streak today.
Also of note for Sunday: Jose Guillen is riding a 20-game hit streak and David DeJesus is now the franchise leader for consecutive error-less games with 222.
