Jose Guillen Inching Closer To George Brett's Franchise Hit Streak Record

New, 5 comments

Jose Guillen hasn't been hitting for much power lately because of a blister problem he's had, but he is hitting singles. Lots of 'em. And in 21 straight games, too.

↵

That hit streak matches Rey Sanchez's 21 games in 2001, nearly a decade ago.

↵

A hit today and Guillen will tie Brian McRae's 1991 streak of 22 games.

↵

Brett and Mike Sweeney each had 25, while Jose Offerman (27) and Brett (30) are second and first.

↵

Will Guillen do it? We'll find out in a week and a half.
