Two Days Later, USA Loss To Ghana And Wizards Loss To Red Bulls Still Hurt

Soccer fans in Kansas City,

If you're reading this, you're still alive and survived through the weekend. Glad to see you're still alive and kickin'. Just so you know, soccer coverage at SB Nation Kansas City isn't going anywhere just because the World Cup is over. And neither should your interest in soccer.

After what had the potential to be the greatest soccer day in my (admittedly short) lifetime, Saturday ended up being probably the worst instead. The United States was bounced from the 2010 FIFA World Cup by a team they should have probably beaten and the Wizards were handed a 3-0 drubbing at home - a place where they are normally money.

Regardless, it was still a great day and big for the sport as a whole in Kansas City. Joel alluded to Kansas City being a "soccer town." Don't believe it? Have a look yourself...
