Royals OF David DeJesus Has A Good Attitude About The All-Star Game

New, 2 comments

At this point, it doesn't look like the Royals will have any players voted into the game by the fans. If you ask David DeJesus, it's not the end of the world.

"It would be nice, but that's just the way it is," outfielder David DeJesus said. "We're still a small-market team. We still don't have the big following like the Chicagos, the Yankees, the Dodgers, and teams like that. But that doesn't bother me at all. I'm just going to go out there and not play any different if I'm getting votes or not getting votes. I play for the Kansas City Royals, and I want to win games."

Ah, another small-market problem. Players become more valuable to their team by increasing their profile in the public's eye but small-market teams are working with a smaller pie so they can't do it quite like the Yankees and Red Sox of the world.

But you gotta like DeJesus's attitude about all of it.
