As we previously told you, one of the umpires in the Royals and White Sox game on Monday had to be hospitalized with symptoms of heat distress and now has been released.
First base umpire Alfonso Marquez was taken to St. Luke's Hospital to be evaluated Monday night. He was experiencing shortness of breath when he left the game in the bottom of the fifth inning.
A hospital spokeswoman said Tuesday that Marquez had been treated and released.
