Pair Of Aces: Greinke, Royals Face Peavy, White Sox Tonight

Zack Greinke and the Kansas City Royals will take on Jake Peavy and the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night.

Greinke, 3-8, comes into the game off of just his third victory of the season. Against the Cardinals last week, he barely lost the shutout giving up two late-inning runs on seven hits.

Over 16 starts, Greinke has a 3.72 ERA.

Over 22 games against the White Sox, Greinke has a 4.20 ERA and a 5-10 record. However, four of those five wins have come at Kauffman stadium, where he'll face the White Sox tonight.

Meanwhile, Peavy comes into the game with some confidence. He's currently sporting a 21-inning streak of no runs allowed. In addition, he's undefeated against the Royals this season going 2-0 in two starts.

The White Sox are riding somewhat of a hot streak. Heading into last Sunday, they had won 11 straight but have lost two of three since then including game one against the Royals.

The White Sox beat the Royals on Tuesday night 4-3.

The White Sox recent hot streak has given them some motivation in the AL Central. They're just .5 games back from the Tigers and 1.5 games back from the White Sox for first place so they have motivation to take two out of a three from the fourth place Royals.

The Royals meanwhile have been playing .500 ball since Ned Yost took over on May 14. They're 9.5 games out of first and eight games behind the White Sox. They're not a threat to win the division or anything like that but they are picking up some nice ground.

The game this evening will kick off at 7:10 p.m. (CDT).
