Fans, Protesters Show Up For Chiefs Video Shoot In Oklahoma

New, 2 comments

The Chiefs on Monday shot a video for a new music video featuring the Chiefs new chant -- "Chop It Up!" -- written by Sand Springs, Oklahoma's Morgan Ganem and his band Sownds.

The event, according to Dustin Hughes of the Sand Springs Leader, included "about a hundred or so fans of all ages, decked out in Chiefs red..." The group of people were the crowd in a few of the scenes.

Also making the trip...protesters.

↵

"Four protesters sat in the stand, quietly holding signs decrying the use of Native American names and symbols as sports mascots," Hughes reports.

I've never associated the Chiefs with a name that's offensive. I haven't heard a lot of people that are (then again, most of my friends are Chiefs fans).

Do you know anyone is greatly offended by the name Chiefs?
