Royals' Bloomquist, Kendall Wouldn't Mind Becoming Bobsledders

We'll file this one in the completely random department. Royals' Willie Bloomquist and Jason Kendall have become friends on the team and were recently watching bobsledding together during a series in Seattle. This caused both of them to think that when their careers are over, they could entertain the idea of....bobsledding.

Which is why they are talking about narrow, twisting iced tracks in the future.

“He told me he wanted to win a gold metal,” Kendall said. “I said, ‘I’m your man, let’s do it.’ It’s something we’re serious about.”

↵

Bloomquist said bobsledding was an easy choice. After all, baseball no longer is an Olympic event.

In actual news, Bloomquist said he plans on playing five more season despite a pair of knee surgeries over the offseason. Kendall, a 15-year veteran, will likely be done with his career before Bloomquist.

And...no, neither player has ever gone bobsledding before.
