The move comes after the University of Missouri - or more specifically, the university's branding company - warned the school district that its Tiger logo too closely resembled that of the Mizzou Tiger.

Trustees first heard of the problem at their May meeting from MISD Superintendent Dr. John Spies. Spies told the trustees at that time he believed the district could win against the university in court, but that it wasn't worth the cost in attorney fees.
