Royals Manager On Anthony Lerew's Next Start: 'I Don't See It Happening'

On Tuesday night, Royals pitcher Anthony Lerew was struck by a line drive causing him to leave the game in the second inning. After the game, both manager Ned Yost said x-rays were negative and that he would likely make his next start. Lerew also expressed optimism that he would make his next start.

Today, making his next start doesn't seem likely.

"To be quite honest with you, I don't see it happening," Yost said. "He's pretty sore. We'll just have to wait and see. He's day-to-day."

He threw on Wednesday and felt OK, Yost says, but it's unlikely he'll be taking the mound Sunday against the Yankees.

Then that means he won't be the one giving up Alex Rodriguez's 600th home run.
