We haven't heard much from Trey Hillman since he was dismissed as the Royals manager on May 13 and replaced by Ned Yost.
↵So what's he been up to?
↵Ala George Costanza and the Summer of George, it appears he's taking it easy. The Joplin Globe caught up with him as he sat in the stands -- not the dugout -- of his son's baseball game.
↵↵↵“I’m just a parent, and enjoying it,” he said. “It’s something I haven’t had much opportunity to do. ... My record, before this summer, was a total of seven innings in one summer. I just haven’t had a chance to see him play.”
↵
And, no, he's not replacing anyone on his 17-year old son's team's coaching staff.
↵↵“I’ve been asked some questions (by team coaches) and I am happy to give my opinion. But I’ve been second-guessed my whole career, so that’s the last thing I’m doing to do.”
