SB Nation's Royals Review summed up the Royals 2-1, ten inning victory over the Angels quite well, calling it The Bloomquist Blueprint:
- Kyle Davies: 7.2 innings of somehow only 1 ER pitching. Allowed a fair number of hits and only struck out three, but he slogged through it.
- Mike Aviles: Unbelievably clutch single to tie the game with two outs (and two strikes) in the 9th.
- Willie Bloomquist: Stole a base with two outs in the 9th to get into scoring position after PRing for Butler. Then, in the 10th, had the game-winning single. The Bloomprint for success.
