Royals Goal Was To Get Mariners' Felix Hernandez Out Of The Game

Well, this was certainly a goal that worked out well:

“As a team,” Betancourt said, “it was our goal to get [Mariners pitcher Felix] Hernandez out of the game. For me, personally, that was it exactly. He was pretty nasty today, and everybody knows the caliber of pitcher that he is.”

The Royals scored two runs off of Hernandez through seven innings. He came out and the Royals, down 4-2, tied the game with a two-run eighth.

It was a good goal that ended up working out very, very well.
