The Royals Know How To Score When Their Backs Are Against The Wall

Thus far in the 2010 season, the Royals have scored in 30 innings when there are two outs and the bases are empty.

That continued in the 10th inning on Monday night against the Mariners.

"We never give up," the Royals' David DeJesus said. "Even when two outs come around, we hear Ned saying, 'We'll get him, we'll get him.' I think it just rubs off on a team."

Yost called it a "huge number" and it is. It's amazing, really, that a team who is "fundamentally, one of the worst in baseball" to be so clutch.
