Nothing Beats Experience On The Kansas Jayhawks Offensive Line

Kansas Jayhawks Turner Gill is on a bit of a hot streak when it comes recruiting. He's been focusing on offensive lineman and, as we've explained before, that's the most sound way to build a team so kudos to him and the Jayhawks.

While they have some solid freshman coming in, nothing beats experience, according to a story by Matt Tait of the Lawrence Journal-World.

“There is no substitute for experience,” Grimes said. “You can’t do without it, and there’s only one way to get it. And we’ve got some guys who have played the game quite a bit at the University of Kansas. To have those guys and to know that when they first run out onto that field they’re not going to have a wide-eyed look and they’ll be looking around and knowing what they’re doing, that’s really a comforting feeling.”

"Those guys" are Sal Capra (Rockhurst grad) and Brad Thorson, who have 24 starts between them. To be honest, I'm starting to become a believer in Gill. I know, I know. He's gotta take the field first but he's had a solid offseason.
