Former Chief Signs With The Lions (CFL, Not NFL)

At the end of April, former North Alabama LB Mike Johnson signed with the Chiefs. At the time, he said:

"They have a need for my position and didn’t draft anybody (or sign anyone) so that tells me a lot," Johnson told the News Herald. They expect me to contribute and they showed they were serious about me."

Of course the Chiefs cut him a few weeks later. So where did he end up?

The British Columbia Lions of the CFL (like so many other great players).

He had a lot of production at North Alabama so I suspect he has a good shot of making it.

Johnson's impressive defensive play also earned him a First Team Little All-American selection in Division II, III and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes for the 2009 season.
