David DeJesus's 231-game errorless streak was the third best among current streaks in baseball. Well, was the third best being the operative word.

His streak is now tops in baseball.

Two longer streaks both ended on Tuesday night -- both, oddly enough, in ninth-inning plays.

The Mets' Jason Bay had 263 errorless games in a row until he missed a pop fly in a 3-0 victory over the Reds. The Cardinals' Randy Winn had his string of 253 games snapped when he bobbled a ball, allowing a run during the Rockies' game-winning nine-run inning.

DeJesus has handled 511 chances with 494 putouts and 17 assists during his streak while playing all three outfield positions.

Kudos to DeJesus. His glove is so underrated and one of the many reasons he's so coveted as we get closer to the MLB trade deadline.

His last error: Sept. 15, 2008 against the Mariners on a single from Ichiro Suzuki.
