Royals' Butler, DeJesus, Podsednik Becoming The Next Randa, Damon, Beltran

Billy Butler recently hit his 500th career hit joining George Brett and Johnny Damon as the only Royals to accomplish that before age 25. This season, Butler has already passed 100 hits.

So had David DeJesus, who is in the midst of a career year and Scott Podsednik, with 96 as of Wednesday night, should achieve 100 hits by the All-Star break, which starts this weekend.

If that's the case, it would give the Royals three players over 100 hits at the All-Star break.

Scott Podsednik is closing in on 100 -- he was four shy going into Wednesday night's game -- and if he makes it by Sunday, it'll mark the first time the Royals have had three at that level since 1999, when Randa, Johnny Damon and Carlos Beltran accomplished the feat.

Those three guys weren't bad, were they?
