A couple of former Kansas City Chiefs are in the news.
↵Bobby Engram, who played for the Chiefs in 2009, was recently signed by the Browns. The connection is Mike Holmgren. He was the coach in Seattle when Engram played and is now in a front office role with the Browns.
↵Also in the news is Kenny Smith.
↵Remember him?
↵He was signed by the Chiefs midway through the 2009 season only to stay on the roster for a few weeks. He was looking at time as a nose tackle.
↵Anyway, Smith tore his ACL, according to his agent. Smith has had a ton of injuries in his career. Actually, when the Chiefs signed him, it was nearly six years since he had last played because of injuries and time out of the league.
↵This sounds like it'll be the end to Smith's career.
↵Update: Jeff Webb, too:
↵↵"Honestly, I don't know why the mistakes were made. I don't like to make excuses for making mistakes, so I don't want to say, 'It was the first game,' or nothing like that," Rideau, 27, said. "It's just a matter of focusing and slowing down and doing what you do every day in practice."
↵"I'm just trying to iron everything out," said Webb, who caught three passes for 17 yards against Calgary. "I'm just trying to iron my wrinkles out and learn the game more. I'm new to the game so as I go I'm learning."
