Royals catcher Jason Kendall has been among the league leaders in...
↵....games caught.
↵He's been an iron man of sorts catching a ridiculous amount of games, particularly early in the first half of the season.
↵Apparently the Royals, who are now out of the Central race, realize he's not the future. Manager Ned Yost said on Wednesday, per Bob Dutton of the Kansas City Star, that Kendall's schedule may be changing.
↵↵↵Royals manager Ned Yost says plan is for Brayan Pena to catch at least 15 of the remaining 49 games

Pena is 28 and Kendall is 36 so from just that standpoint the move makes sense. Pena has room to improve while we pretty know what Kendall can do (for better or worse).
