The New York Yankees and Kansas City Royals meet Thursday night for the start of a four-game series. The last time these two teams met things didn't turn out well for the Royals -- they lost three of four.
The Royals are coming of of a sweep at the hands of the Angels. They've lost four in a row and six of seven overall. The Yankees have won three of their last five most recently splitting two with the Texas Rangers.
The game starts at 7:10 p.m. (CT).
The Royals will send out Bruce Chen (7-5) after a frustrating 10-inning loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday where Zack Greinke gave up one run in eight innings. Chen has won two in a row and was the last Royals pitcher to post a victory in a 2-1 win over the Seattle Mariners last Saturday.
Chen has lost in a head-to-head matchup against C.C. Sabathia already this season. He's 1-4 lifetime against the Yankees in 15 outings.
C.C. Sabathia (14-5) will try to the Tampa Bay Rays David Price for the A.L. lead in wins. The last time he went out was a solid day and a big win over the Boston Red Sox giving up two runs and six hits over eight innings.
Sabathia has already beat the Royals once this year and is 16-10 lifetime against Kansas City.
