Chiefs Training Camp: Storms Hit St. Joseph, Cause Some Damage

If you live in Kansas City, then you heard and felt the storms rolling through the city on Friday night.

Those continued on north to Kansas City Chiefs training camp in St. Joseph.

Around 5:30 p.m., debris and vendor tents were blown around the Chiefs camp on the campus of Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph. Debris blew into the practice field.

Winds of 75 to 85 mph were reported east of St. Joseph in Cameron, Mo. A back-to-school pep rally was called off, and people were cleared from the area about an hour before the storm hit.

In nearby Winston, MO, a tractor-trailer flipped over causing at least one injury.

It doesn't sound like the facilities at St. Joseph were actually damaged significantly but instead debris blown around.
