Chiefs Vs. Falcons Preseason: Sean Weatherspoon Gets Good Reviews

Former Mizzou LB and current Falcons LB Sean Weatherspoon played in his first NFL game against the Chiefs on Friday night.

The early results are positive, according to Falcons coach Mike Smith.

“I thought that Sean got a little baptism under fire. He didn’t get an opportunity to ease into it. He started as a (weakside) linebacker in this ball game. I that he did some good things.  I think you see his urgency. I think you see a guy who is going to be able to do what we thought he would be able to do, match tight ends and match running backs. I thought it was a good start for him. It’s going to be fun to watch the film and watch him play. I thought he did a good job on special teams.”

Good for Weatherspoon. He was predicted to be one of those smart, physical linebackers that can step in and play quickly. Looks like he might get a chance to do that.
