Kansas Names Kale Pick Starting Quarterback For 2010 Season

Is it a good thing or a bad thing that your starting quarterback has the last name Pick?

Regardless, that's who it is. The Kansas Jayhawks announced that Kale Pick will be the starting quarterback for the team in the fall.

KU had told the media this afternoon that they would have an announcement. Most figured it was to announce the quarterback and they were right.

On Tuesday, KU head coach Turner Gill told reporters that his quarterback decision could come as early as next week and it could last until Sept. 3, the day before the season opener.

Pick is entering his third year at KU.

In 2008, he redshirted while winning the team's scout team player of the year award.

In 2009, as a freshman, he saw action in seven games throwing just five passes but coming in third on the team in rushing.

And now he has to follow record-breaking quarterback Todd Reesing. Good luck.
