The Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 20-15 on Saturday night in Tampa, FL.
Though the Chiefs didn't score more than one offensive touchdown in their sixth straight preseason game, the offense did look sharper.
Here are a few notes on the game.
Matt Cassel looked better than he has lately completing 14/19 passes for 125 yards and a touchdown. He seemed to move the offense and have a better handle on the offense. Tyler Palko played the entire second half. Bill Stull didn't see action in the game.
The first team running backs played well with Jones and Charles splitting carries for similar yardage. Both looked solid but Jones did lose a fumble.
Dwayne Bowe was somewhat active with three catches for 33 yards. He looked solid and Cassel looked his way a few times.
The Chiefs had a fourth and goal with just over a minute left in the game. There was a false start knocking them back five yards, and then Palko hit Rich Gunnell across the middle about two yards short of the end zone. The Chiefs would eventually hold the Bucs and get the ball back but couldn't get it done.
Chiefs lose. Sixth straight preseason loss. 20-15 Bucs.
